my friend in london lives opposite a shy but friendly chinese man. this is the front door to his apartment. when she first moved in she noticed garlic hanging from his door and asked him why he did this. he said it was to keep the vampires away, without any hint of irony. the skull and cross bones, and evil eye protectors, are a recent addition (well, in the two years since i last visited). this is a long reply to your question. i miss you too!
